Memorial Day

This past week was pretty interesting. We got asked to talk on Sunday and were totally fine with it.....then the very next day we found out Nic had the following Monday off. (memorial day) DANGET! We really really really want to go home to Boise and see our families. So we called our bishop to see if we could speak the following Sunday....but he couldn't find anyone to cover for us so we had to stay here in Pocatello. So Sunday rolled around and we're both still totally bummed about not going to Boise and having to stay here. Our talks went really good for the both of us and then we went on to teach our Primary class (aka...crazy can I show you my twirl 5 year olds) So we took a nap woke up and realized....why didn't we drive to Boise right after church? awwww. We got so caught up in not being able to go home that we totally spaced all the other possibilities. So our usual sunday activities occured and then it was midnight. We hadn't decided what we were going to do together for our day off....so I got this wild and crazy idea that we should just pack up and go. to Boise. just go. We would get there around 3 in the morn'n and just spend the day with our families and drive home that evening......Nic finally brought me to my senses that this wasn't the greatest idea...(our other options being go to SLC and do fun stuff there or go to Idaho Falls and do fun stuff there) So after deciding to go to IF we planned what we were going to do. After deciding what we were going to do on Memorial Day we went to Walmart and got the movie "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" totally enjoyed that and went to sleep......here is what we did on our wonderful day off!

By the way...we just LOVED LOVED LOVED our day off together. what. a. BLAST! We truly cherish every moment together considering the 3 or so hours we get to see each other each day....

This is how we started our day....totally excited! Reason 1: day off together
Reason 2: day off together

First we went to Red Robin to eat...sorry no picture. But! Next we went to the Zoo and enjoyed it to the fullest. It was fun to watch this lady feed the penguins....the fish smelt real bad, but fun to watch them eat!

Here is one of my favorite pictures! The Flamingos! I don't recall ever seeing a flamingo in real life other then this experience, soo....i was thrilled to get my picture with them.

Here is the awesome lion picture Nic got for me... :D I kept trying to get a good shot but he would never look at me! Thanks honey! Oh, and something weird was before we got up to the lion cage there was a sign that had a picture of a rhino on it...but obviously there was not rhinos! So, I was hoping later on to see one, but we never did.

Do you like his wings? I think this said Turkey Vulture or something like that. Thanks honey for tak'n such a hilarious picture....such a good sport when it comes to my picture taking! hahaha.

Say hello to the ugly and VERY CRAZY monkey....I was seriously shocked by what I saw! This monkey (can't believe we got a picture of him!) was jumping around the cage like crazy, making the weirdest noise and his jumps were probably 6-8 feet apart! It was crazy. There was this little kid was freak'n out with excitement because of how wild this monkey was! It was a wonderful and exciting part to our day at the zoo...

I'll finish with this one for our zoo adventure! On to Target!

Nic and I went to target to finish up some shopp'n we needed to do. We had some gift cards that were gifts from our wedding so we happily enjoyed spending them. Nic is such a goober because the plan was we were going to get some things we needed and then we both would get something we wanted. Well I picked a black belt (cause I need and have never had one) and Nic kept saying oh my pick is the cooling racks (yea whatever) and I needed a pair of shorts cause I'm growing out of all my past summer stuff and so I just wanted one pair. So it was either the shorts or the belt...but Nic made me get both. REALLY! he did. He got the cooling racks. or in a sense he got nothing. Rude! So we finished our shopping and headed to the....DISC GOLF COURSE! holla! But wait....

Since the temple was so close by the course I wanted to stop a take a picture us by it. Cute huh?

This is an awesome picture. haha. I threw my disc into the stream and Nic was all like, "I'll get it" (he did say something better than that but its short and easy and I can't remember) So Nic starts taking off his shoes and I say to myself..."I can get my own disc! Its not deep whatsoever!" So I start hurrying to beat Nic cause he didnt' want me to get it, I almost fall in cause of the mud and then I got it! HA! Nic was like, "Meg! I was gonna get it" but then I continued to tell him that I had to get it to prove I was an intense and for real disc golfer. Then I told him to snap a picture! So now for all of you who have been wondering...I'm offically a disc golfer. Not great. But getting better.

This is Nic doing his super hot walk! Hope you like it...

We only played a few holes of golf....but we ended up sitting by the river and enjoying each others company. WE LOVE BEING TOGETHER! its so fun. We ended our day by grill'n fajitas with our friends. Such a fun Memorial Day, hope yours was too!

Oh and just so you know we loved being married....for 2 months now!!!!

Date Nights! LOVE THEM!

So the past couple friday night date nights have been fabulous! Nic and I first went and saw the X-Men Origins: Wolverine, thought it was sad. to sad. But, we think we should probably go see it again thinking it will be better the second time around. Now, on the other hand Star Trek was so great! We saw with our friends Jordan and Joann (or course!) and all four of us totally enjoyed it! Afterwards we went and got Frosty's at Wendy's but then had to head home because I work at 6:30 in the morning...and I needed sleep! So, for those of you who have not seen these 2, go see him. I personally think Star Trek is more worth your money, but I don't' know if you like Star Trek! (some of our families saw it also and LOVED IT...we're hoping for 2nds maybe even 3rds but they gotta keep it good!)

There are a couple other movies Nic and I want to see, we want to see Angels & Demons and Ghosts of Girlfriends past....or whatever it's actual total is! I wasn't to excited about seeing Angels & Demons first off, but now I want to see it since I've seen the trailers for it more! I'll send updates on theses movies....or let me know about them!

Which one did you like more? Star Trek...right?

My Amazing Person

There are plenty of amazing people in this world. Many of them we don't even know. They may be a random person you see during the day doing a nice thing or it could be a long time friend calling you up just to say hello. But who in your life is that amazing person? That person that you feel is amazing yet also makes you feel like YOU are that amazing person. Mine is Nic. This is my first, and definitely not my last shout out to Nic for being my most amazing person/husband. I love him so much. He is such a hard working, compassionate, loving, understanding husband and I could not ask for more. He is always telling me that I am beautiful, wonderful, hilarious, outgoing, that I'm a blessing to him, and that he is the luckiest man in the world.

So since Nic is my amazing person and he thinks that I'm his amazing person....we are always out to please one another. haha. One of my favorite little things to do is make dinner. Yes, dinner. Sometimes it's that frozen pizza from walmart or its sweet and sour chicken, scalloped potatoes and corn. (both meals very good by the way) The 2nd meal usually gets more "mmmm" "this is so good" "wow babe" and so forth, but hey...we like frozen pizza too! The other reason I love making dinner is because its usually done or finishing up baking by the time he gets home from work....so when he walks in he can smell all the wonderfulness niss ner niss. (nic and I add niss ner niss on to a lot of things...) Third, I just love sitting down to a wonderful yummy meal, talking with him, laughing, and just being with him over all.

So for all of you out there that have that amazing person, let him or her know that they are amazing to you. That they make your life sparkle just a little bit more. They will appreciate hearing that from you. So give them a call, write 'em a email, letter, facebook comment...blog comment, whatever the heck it is that you can contact them through and tell them you love and appreciate them!

Nic - thanks for being my man. I love you so much; thank you for making my life better then it ever has been. You're amazing.

Love Meg

WE LOVE POCI!

Nic and I were somewhat excited to see what Poci would bring us, but then again we were nervous because....we would be away from family and we L-O-V-E being with our families. But since we have been in Pocatello we have surprised ourselves with the good times we have had. First of all, we love being together. It's what we have wanted from the very beginnning. We get to eat, sleep, do whatev we want together and it is SO fabulous. Nic is my favorite person (and I'm his - of course!) so doing anything and everything is grand. When we do have the urge to do things with other people we hang with Jordan and Joann, who i mentioned before are our awesome landlords, and here are photos of our adventures alone and with them! :D ENJOY!

Nic and I watched Pirates, today actually, # 1 and 2. We LOVE the pirates!

We went out to some caves and had a HUGE bonfire,
hamburgers, and of course explored the cave!

Frisbee golf = happiness!

Nic, Jordan, Joann and I all went to Butter Burr's and had an amazing dinner!
They have the most amazing cinnamon twists! :D YUM!

We LOVE swing'n

HEHE! My silly husband!

Easter...late but needed!

Easter was interesting this year. We almost went to Boise...but then we ended up not going. SO! We hung out with our awesome landlords/friends. We dyed eggs, played a board game - and boy did we have tons of fun! Nic and Jordan got pretty competitive while Joann and I just enjoyed the fun. I hope everyone had such a good easter like us! Pictures to come!
