Boise Thanksgiving

Upfront I will say I'm sorry for not having any pictures for this post. I got up to Boise and my camera was dead and I had no way to charge it. SAD DAY!
Anyways
Nic and I arrived in Boise Wednesday night. We were so excited to be staying the whole weekend and being able to see our families.
Thanksgiving was wonderful. We enjoyed our feast at Uncle Ron and Aunt Terri's. They did a fabulous job decorating their house for the occasion. We had the usual turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, etc. But, something they always have for thanksgiving which I never have had for this holiday was deviled eggs. They were so good and I loved having them. Growing up I never enjoyed this amazing side dish or appetizer.(I think I'll learn to make them). Anyways, I honestly cant remember what we did the rest of the day...oops. Oh wait. I almost forgot. Nic went to Demeyer Park and played turkey day football with his guy friends and tons of other random people from the surrounding neighborhood. I went as the cheerleader fully enjoying seeing him have so much fun!
Early morning Friday I went over to my parents house while Nic went and played frisbee golf with his friend Tom. I enjoyed the time with my family and truly enjoyed Nic getting some social time with his friend. We of course had Turkey Day left overs and then Nic and I went shopping. We got two movies, I got a dress, some dainties (haha), Nic got a sweater, we did some Christmas shopping and over all we just had fun! We spent the rest of the evening with his family.
Saturday we went and saw The Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey. It was okay. I enjoyed it but it was no were by far my favorite Christmas movie. It wasn't even very christmasy over all. Nic loves the Muppet's version the best. :D Nic and I then went out and saw our Bro and Sis in law Matt and Shealynn and their two kids. They are such a cute family and I LOVE being related to them. We then had another Turkey Day dinner that night made completely my Mom Hopkins and it was delish! We then played tons of dice games, that was loads of fun!
Sunday was of course the usual. We went to church and then Nic and I went over and spent some more time with my family. Played games and enjoyed company. We then we back to Nics for a little while and then we traveled home!
It was such an enjoyable weekend with our families and celebrating being thankful for what we have. Nic and I are truly blessed!

I'm back!

I haven't blogged in so long. I've been busy, real busy and lazy. But here I am! There is a lot to go through and so this will be a random post. For a quick update, Nic is still working at CarQuest. If anyone knows of a better paying, better boss, better everything overall please let us know...that is if it's in Pocatello. At the end of August I started Cosmo school. I'm loving it. I'm attending it at ISU and Nic will be starting school in January...hopefully. Nic puts up very well with all my talk about it and how much I love what I'm learning.

We have both had birthdays. Mine was September 4th and Nic's was November 5th. We enjoyed celebrating those, (pictures to come) For my birthday we ended up going up to the Boise area and had a fun weekend of camping with some Nic's family. We had tons of delicious food including peach and cherry colber for my birthday. We roasted mellows and told stories around the fire. Went fishing, or well we watched Matt fish, Nic shot/killed a chimpmunk, went on a short hike, found a hot springs and over all enjoyed each others company. Later that weekend we also went Mini Golfing with some of my family. Very fun birthday weekend.

Oh, and the saturday before my birthday I sliced open one of my toes and got to get 3 stiches! It was our very first trip as a married couple to the emergency room! :D We now are paying our first medical bills and will not be going to the ER again because of how dang expensive it is! Then a week later Nic's eye began to swell up...awesome. Didn't go to a doctor because he refeused, it is fine now but it always makes me wonder what happend! (Around this time, but before the puffy eye, he got liquid glass in one of his eyes...i know, such a safe husband I have!)
Thats my toe with the stiches...sorry its really blurry!

Now for some leisure activities we do. We've been watching lots of movies, we enjoy doing this a lot. Redbox is our new best friend, practically family. We also have gone bowling, once only since we've been here. We do need to go more often though. We're both pretttttty rusty.

Oh, and Nic was never able to get my birthday cake made before we went out of town so in the middle of the month I got my cake! :D mmmmm it was good! Thanks honey!

Another fun activity that we did, (this one was in Oct) we went black light mini golf'n here in poci with our friends Jordon and Joann. This was fun and it was good to mix our daily routine date nights up! Woooo hoo!

Halloween is almost here! I made a craft that hung on our door outside. I had to paint it, learned how to rub on those letters and Nic did all the wiring for me! I got it done just in time to hang it up for 2 whole days. haha. Also for fun this year, oh i forgot to mention. Side story - Nic and I teach one of the 5 year old classes in primary! We love love love our class so much! Its definetly taught me that it is hard to teach little kids basic principles of the gospel...especially if its there first time hearing about it. Try to teach them about fasting. oh geez. That was difficult. And its hard cause even when we do do a good job, they don't even remember by the folowing sunday, better yet by the time they get home. haha. Anyways, since we LOVE our class so much we made all our kids halloween cookies! We had so much fun doing it! We put lots of detail into them. Later that week, at school I had a dress up day at school, i dressed up as a tiger. It was so much fun to see everyone that dressed up. Very creative ideas! They even had a halloween costume contest. It was great. One girl that one was a whoopie cushion. Ooh geeze I laughed so hard. When she found out she won one of the categories they made her make a sound like a whoopie cushion....she did a great job. Probably very embarressed, but did a good job! It was also fun that week because we had the kids from the daycare come up and got their faces painted and the day before halloween they trick or treated. So cute! Can't wait to dress up my kids someday! (but dont' be expecting anything soon :) )

sideways...oops!

Mine is the 2nd from the left and Nic's is him...standing in the back holding it in front of his head.

Its a devil pumkin!

One of the girls at school dressed up as our teacher Rick, and it was so hilarious! She even got his name tag and carried around a coffee mug like he always does, he could not stop laughing and neither could we!

An apple tree....how cute huh?

Nic's birthday was then around the corner. I had soooo much fun shopping for his birthday and struggling trying to figure out what to get him. Its hard shopping for husbands. I also made him a cake, blue and orange for our amazing broncos, and also bought blue and orange streamers and made the house look very birthday festive! That night we went with our friends J&J to Chilis' and had some great food! It was a funnnnn birthday!

Well to sum things up since November 5th....Nic and I have both been sick. I started out with a cold and then it turned into bronchitis. Nic had the flu. Believe me, there were no kisses on the lips for a couple days.....I didn't want his flu and I didn't want him to get my bronchitis. We're both still getting over them both but doing good! We cannot wait till thanksgiving (which is in 2 days!) and then Christmas! Hopefully I can blog about Thanksgiving before Christmas gets here! Well thanks so much for reading...if you still do considering I haven't blogged in so long! Oh - I still LOVE being married! :D

Best Wife Ever

No this is not megan talking about herself. It is her husband wanting to let all you readers know that I do have the most amazing wife in the world. God has really blessed me with the most wonderfully amazing women I could ever have. Megan to me is like that breathe of fresh air you breath after you wake up in the morning while camping in the mountains of Idaho. You know the pine-ee, moist-ee, freedom like air. It just brings a smile to my face just thinking about it. That's what I am trying to tell you about Megan in a clever round about way. Every time I see her smiling and even mad face I get this over whelming joy inside of body. I could be in the worst of moods and seeing her puts me right back into those mountains (clever huh!). Often times she does show up unannounced on those moments like she already knows. Anyways, she is so much fun to be around as her friends and family know. She comes up with some pretty fun ideas for us to do in this nothing to do place of Pocatello. She likes to play bored games and I don't but we do anyways and she always wins (oh and I let her win! If only you knew what happens if I don't, boy is it scary!). She also plays frisbee golf with me and man she is getting good. I don't think she likes it but she does it cause I love it, thanks babe! We go for lots of drives too. Brandy (our sweet ride) takes us everywhere. What we usually end up doing is looking at huge houses that we can't afford but it makes her happy. Some day honey (I'm taking donations now, any amount is good for me)! Our favorite thing to do together though is cuddle and talk. Some of my most favorite moments we have spent with each other have been on our sweet checkered couch. Just holding each other and laughing and giggling about absolutely nothing. We just start and can't stop. Also before it got so cold we would often go for walks. Holding hands and saying hello to all our crazy neighbors was so fun. Hopefully summer comes quick. Not to much longer, right?!
Megan has also amazed me by how well she is doing in school. She really has devoted herself to doing the best she can. She is very very brilliant. Some days while she does her homework I'll be lying on the floor yelling " Are you done yet? or When will you pay attention to me?" just like a little kid and she just ignores me or reminds me how important that is that she finishes. She is so patient and amazing(haha). I also look forward to the moments when she comes home from cosmo school and tells me all about bad products and what kind of damage they are doing to my hair and she is super serious about it. It makes me laugh because I don't really care about my hair much, so I still use those products. Is that rude of me(please let me know)? She is loving cutting hair too. It frustrates her cause she isn't professional yet but I just remind her it takes time and to take her time. I think she is making me grow my hair out too, so she can experiment with it. I'm cool with that except I like my hair short, as many of you know. So if you see a girl walking down the street that looks like me, it probably is cause I'm growing my hair out. I think I would look pretty good with an A line cut (Please let me know if you think so)! Ummm... I love my wife very much. Life with her doesn't get any better until the next day and the day after that and the day after that and so on and so forth. I will throw this out too. I am so excited for kids(we are not expecting, so don't get any ideas)! Well thanks for reading this. It was fun to write. Maybe I'll start my own called My Sizzling Stockinger or something. Probably not though. I think it was only fun cause Megan doesn't know and it is twelve thirty at night. Till next time, Later Days! N-dog signing off!

I love him and that is why we went on a hike.

So, if you haven't realized I'm not much of a "lets go play outdoors" type of person. I enjoy being inside. Looking cute. I like to be clean. I hate bugs. All of them except lady bugs, rolly polly's, butterflies and possibly a few others but I can't think of them all. Anyways. I guess you could say I am picky when it comes to certain activities. One of the activities I dislike is hiking. I have never enjoyed hiking up mountains when I would rather just drive up a mountain to get a great view. (I obviously could never of been a pioneer.) Yet, I lucked out and married the most amazing guys ever....even though he is the "lets go play outdoors" type. He could live outdoors. He would probably just like to buy a piece of land.......lots of acres and live on it. Without a house. or a home for that matter. At least once or twice a week he asks if we can sleep outside in our yard. (it's not even ours) I win. We sleep in our nice, comfy, warm, big bed. Anyways.....so I dont sound like the worst wife and sound like I don't let my husband do anything he enjoys...about a week ago Nic and I took a day off together and we packed a picnic and went on a hike. And just to note how much I love him I picked the activity. Yes, it wasn't a very hard hike....considering we just picked a random one here in pocatello and never experienced any of their trails, but it was good. Plenty of bugs. Here are the pics and I love my husband and it was fun because I was with him.

And we're off!

Here is my hubby getting out the picnic. He is super excited. haha. And he is just wonderful about letting me take pictures!

Here is me at the beginning. I'm happy. It's not to hot outside. I haven't been bugged by any bugs yet...
And then this happened... I was peacefully sitting eating my picnic lunch and I was getting attacked by bugs. lets just say I hated it. the bugs that is.

And then here is my wonderful husband enjoying his picnic. He kept telling me to stay calm.

And the we started our hike. There were a lot of ups and downs in the trail but it was nice.

A beautiful view.

During our hike!

Thanks for reading!
