So lately I have been slack'n. I TOTALLY forgot to blog about Mothers Day. My very first one....so ya'll need to hear about it! Nic totally surprised me and he even set up the whole thing to make me think that I didn't get to celebrate Mothers Day. The story is as follows....
One day I realized that MD was coming up and I stated to Nic that I was so excited for once about MD because I never got to celebrate it. Nic then said that I didn't get to celebrate MD. I wasn't mother, we don't have any kids. I'm pretty sure my jaw just dropped to the floor and I had to pick it up because I was so SHOCKED! What! I don't get to celebrate MD. I got over it and didn't even think about it again. Mothers day then rolled around and while we were sitting in church the speakers got up and started to speak about mothers. So I suddenly realized that it was MD and Nic and I wondered if they would pass something out to the mothers at the end of sacrament meeting like they did in our home wards. They did. It was a tomato plant and Nic was all like,
"aren't you going to get one"
Me: "No why, I'm not a mother!"
Nic: " Okay.."
So we went into the primary room and they also came in there to make sure every mother got one. They realized I didn't get one so I went ahead a took one. Then during primary they passed out a piece of candy and a lemon bar. (even the guys got them....i was confused) So during all of this I thought it was cool that even though I wasn't a mom with a child, I still got stuff. YESSS! So church is then over and Nic had already headed out to the car and I got out there and what was on my seat......
A GIFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was surprised and happy....but really really really confused.
He had told me that I wasn't a mother so that I wouldn't expect a gift! And not only did he get me a gift, he got me and expensive pair of shoes for work. What a bum.
We also finished off the day with Nic mak'n me his delicious enchiladas!
When fathers day rolls around ya'll better expect a post on what I got him!
